Banker wins slightly more often than Player because of the drawing rules — the Banker acts last and gets to respond to the Player's third card. The casino prices that advantage away with a 5% commission, leaving a house edge of 1.06%.
Player pays even money with no commission and carries a 1.24% edge. The difference between the two best bets in baccarat is 0.18% — small enough that the commission on Banker is almost, but not quite, fair.
Tie pays 8:1 on an outcome that happens 9.52% of the time. A fair payout would be about 9.5:1. That gap gives the Tie bet a house edge of 14.36% — thirteen times worse than Banker, and worse than almost any slot. Deal ten thousand hands on Tie above and watch it happen.
Baccarat is otherwise one of the cheapest games in any casino. The catch for a rakeback hunter is the same as with blackjack: a 1.06% edge generates very little rake, so a percentage of it is worth very little back.
