In a provably fair crash game the probability of the multiplier reaching at least m is (1 − edge) / m. At a 1% edge, 2× comes up 49.5% of the time, 10× comes up 9.9% of the time, and 100× comes up about once in a thousand rounds.
Multiply that probability by the payout and you get the same answer every time: m × (1 − edge)/m = 0.99. Cashing out at 1.2× and cashing out at 50× have identical expected value. What changes is variance — the 1.2× player wins constantly and bleeds slowly, the 50× player busts ninety-eight times in a hundred and occasionally gets it all back.
This is why no crash strategy works. There is no cashout point with better expected value than any other, because the payout curve was built from the probability curve. Leave the simulator running at any target and watch the observed RTP settle at the same place.
